Dolph Lundgren is a Swedish actor, writer and former professional bodybuilder, who also served as a Swedish National representative for International Federation of Body Building and the European Body Building Union. His film career began with the action film "Commando" (1985). In 1992, he played the character Gunnar Eriksson in "The Expendables". In 1994, he starred as Frank Dux in the Arnold Schwarzenegger film "The Last Stand"

The book follows Lundgren through his childhood upbringing on his family farm during the Great Depression up to his bodybuilding career that culminated at the 1980 Mr Olympia contest where he finished runner-up to Lee Haney. Lundgren has four children with his wife of 23 years.
He is an avid fan of the St Petersburg (Russia) soccer club Spartak Moscow FK, which he supports by traveling there frequently on behalf of Spartak Moscow FK Supporters Club USA (SMFC).
